Almost 7 weeks now since our country was first put under a lockdown and words like ‘social distancing’ and ‘quarantine’ became the new normal.
After a few initial turbulences and frantic surfing to figure out the circumstances I now seem to have reached a harmonious accord with this lockdown phase and relinquished to the fact that going on outings, shopping sprees and luncheons are luxuries of bygone era and practices like Work From Home and online classes, webinars etc. are here to stay.
The post lockdown phase seems like a petrifying avenue threatening to disrupt the art of being productive while staying at home that I had just began to master. Researchers suggest that with businesses being adversely affected and adopting measures like layoffs, downsizing and people becoming more wary and of personal hygiene, it is only inevitable that our public spaces will look the same as before.
To survive in these times of unprecedented changes and novel social, business and economic dynamics we need a SURVIVAL GUIDE. So, to aid mankind to sail through the upcoming uncertain times breezily I decided to envisage and curate “A 101 POST-LOCKDOWN SURVIVAL GUIDE” and here’s a synopsis of it:
“Every event has a purpose and every setback a lesson.”
Lockdown as an event indeed had a purpose for it curtailed the spread of Covid-19 but the lessons it had to offer were far immense.
LESSON 1: Standard employment might not be the best prospect in future considering the volatile state of affairs and plummeting economy. Hence, there is a dire need to become multi-talented by constantly increasing your skill set. As the saying goes,” The best way to face future is to prepare for it.”
LESSON 2: The complete shutdown of economic activities across the countries has left many people jobless and in dismal financial position. It has reiterated the need for investing in steady options and the increased activity that stock markets are witnessing stands testimony to it.
LESSON 3: Digital is the way forward and to survive in future we must learn to cope up and surf on this digitalization wave before it knocks us down. We must continuously endeavor to become more and more technically equipped.
LESSON 4: The constant flashing of death toll and the disheartening plight of migrant workers on news channels has reinstated the need to be grateful for all the blessings God has bestowed us with.
We are all indeed novices as none of us has experienced such adversity before but we must remember that every catastrophe no matter how tragic also brings out human resilience, will to survive and tackle all odds of life just like every night however dark it maybe is followed by a dawn.
